[Introduction]

Patty Smyth是1980年代初期出道的”Scandal”樂團主唱，但走紅沒幾年樂團就鬧內鬨解散了，直到將近20年後的2004年才又復合。期間Patty Smyth的單飛生涯並非順遂，只有1992年的這張同名專輯，這首主打歌”Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough”的成績勉可與過去媲美。

“Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough”找來天團”The Eagles”前主唱Don Henley跨刀相助，效果十分理想，Patty Smyth搖滾唱將的低沉嗓音，搭配Don Henley反而高兩階的音色，成就了這首男女對唱經典。”There's a danger in loving somebody too much. And it's sad when you know it's your heart you can't trust. There's a reason why people don't stay where they are. Baby sometimes love just ain't enough.” 歌詞只有這段副歌是很棒的，其他段落只能稱得上普通，但歌曲旋律優美動聽，而且很符合歌詞的心境。

這首歌對我有特殊的意義。當年與同學朋友們到烏來深山裡的哈盆野營溪釣，徒步入山單程就要花上4個小時，雖然累極，但當夜幕低垂迎來滿天星空，所有的疲累盡皆消散！眾人圍著營火輪流說故事、唱歌，我就是唱了這首”Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough”；同行有好幾位同樣喜愛西洋流行音樂、愛釣魚的朋友們，可惜早失去聯繫。
